The time you leave will affect what public transport you can take and how traffic conditions will affect your trip. Currently, the data provided to Transportle by Metlink does not include weekend data. Therefore, all routes shown are based on the standard Monday-Friday timetable.

The comparison table gives a breakdown of costs for each mode of travel. Mouse over the rows of the table to highlight the relevant route on the map and to see which routes are connected.

How do I get more detailed information?

The five transport modes being compared are (from top to bottom) Public Transport, Cycling, Driving, Walking and Taxi. The four cost types are (from left to right) Time Taken, Financial Cost, Carbon Emissions and Energy Burnt.

You can get much more detailed information on each mode of transport by clicking the mode of transport icons on the left side of the table.

After comparing and choosing a route, you can minimise your impact on the environment by carbon offsetting your journey. You can do this simply by clicking one of these 'carbon offset' links in the comparison table. You'll then be taken to CarbonNeutral with the your amount of carbon offset already filled in.

Please note that Transportle is not in any way affiliated with CarbonNeutral and we do not receive any commission or other benefits from providing this service. Feel free to select a carbon offsetting organisation of your own choice - in fact, if you know of one, email us!
